Nature is a peaceful lake with the sun shining down on green grass and birds singing in the tall trees.
Nature is a thunderstorm with lightning flashing across the sky and rain soaking the ground. Nature is a lion with an empty belly stalking his prey across the dry savannah. Nature is a cave with a weather system all it’s own and wind whistling in a canyon. Nature is a river rushing to the sea and colorful sea dragons drifting in the ocean. Nature is all of these things and so much more. Surrounding myself with nature does not make my mind still or quiet. Looking at it from a perspective so large we can hardly imagine it, or from one so small it is at the very edge of our understanding, Nature is beautiful, organized, chaos. I look about me and think of all the connections between everything I see and some things I cannot. I think of the gases in the air and the minerals in the ground. I think of the Earth spinning and the molten rock to be found deep, deep below me. I think of all the incredible life to be found here on this tiny globe. I think of wind and water and storms. There is so much to be learned. There is so much yet to be discovered, and I am filled with a perpetual sense of wonder. Nature is not quiet, but so incredibly loud. How inspiring that is to me! |
